MAPPAD DATABASE

MapPad is a simple but useful GIS program that will take data, compiled in a straightforward text file according to a few formatting rules, and display it on a map from its map library. MapPad is freeware and may be downloaded from http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/paleo/paleo.html. The program was written by John Keltner, NOAA Paleoclimatology Program, Boulder, Colorado

An article describing the installation and use of MapPad (Keltner 1995) may be found as part of the Canadian Association of Palynologists (CAP) WWW presentation.

However, although MapPad can display this information directly, it is not necessary to have this program in order to make use of these data. Because they are text, MapPad datafiles can be read with any word-processor.

You may download a copy of the database file, in zipped format.
