Origin and Age of Europe Lake, Wisconsin. In American Quaternary Association (AMQUA) Program and Abstracts of the Thirteenth Biennial Meeting. p. 243. June 19- 22, 1994, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
Site discussed: Europe Lake. Lake is an embayment off Lake Michigan cut off from lake by a sand bar. Ostracodes in core from Europe Lake are not typical of Lake Michigan. Basal date of about 6600 yr BP from core suggests Europe Lake was formed several thousands of years earlier than previously thought. (17/12/2007).
