The "piglet" designed and tested on Leg 144 by the shipboard development engineer. Inserted down the coreliner before the corebarrel is laid horizontally, the piglet slides throught seawater in the coreliner and stops at the coretop, anchoring the soupy sediment and lessening the chances of disturbance.
